Painting plein air in the beautiful gardens at Stancombe

Stancombe has provided the inspiration for many artists and writers over the years, like Evelyn  Waugh who, when writing Brideshead Revisited, used Stancombe as inspiration for the grounds of Brideshead. Our retreats offer a sanctuary of quiet inspiration for guests to take in the beauty of the  place, while being mentored by leading figures who will guide and teach guests in different locations  on the estate from the folly gardens to the woods with views out over the Severn and onto Wales. The painting and writing courses all benefit from our full concierge service and is fully catered if required.
