Stancombe’s gardens are a registered Grade 1 park and garden, typifying the early 19th century picturesque and are not open to public access. The quality of the gardens has been compared to Stourhead and Biddulph Grange. Our garden tours have exclusive access to this hidden jewel and we use these gardens as a base to explore similar Gloucestershire such as Stanway House and Sezincote. In the South of the Cotswolds Barnsley House, Painswick Rococo Gardens, Badminton and Prince Charles’s famous Highgrove Gardens is a must-see.
Our guides have over 30 years experience touring these gardens ensuring each tour is rich in expertise and knowledge, and often leading lecturers and horticulturalists are invited to speak as part of the package. Itineries are matched by sumptuous estate accommodation, fully catered and chauffer driven and we end our 5 day tours with a catered evening dinner in the enchanting Temple.
With our position at the heart of the Cotswold Way, which stretches over 102 miles, our accommodation offers a wonderful base for people to walk this scenic, undulating route through quiet Cotswold countryside. Whether guided or self-guided, the estate team can drop you of in the morning and pick you up after a long days walk so that you can complete sections of the Cotswold Way and then return to relax and unwind without having to worry about luggage or logistics. Likewise the estate can provide lunches for you to take or meet you with a hamper along the way or at the end, as well as organising pub or restaurant reservations. All our accommodation comes with our full concierge service and is fully catered if required.
There are plenty of options in the Cotswolds to take in a game or get in on the action yourself! With the great sporting events of the Cheltenham Festival and Badminton Horse Trials nearby, guests can enjoy VIP access to these events, are collected by the Stancombe team and then brought back to your estate accommodation. Private chefs and full concierge services allow a truly special end to these landmark sporting events.
